Colonial residence reimagined: blending Antioquian tradition with coastal jungle vibrancy

COLONIAL ELEGANCE

From the very beginning, the client had a clear dream: an authentic colonial house in Tolú Coveñas, a retreat where architectural tradition would be felt in every corner. Mauryarte took this vision and transformed it into a design that respects the essence of Antioquian colonial architecture while harmonizing with the warm coastal environment.

The selection of materials—solid wood, handcrafted brick, and clay tiles—reinforces this connection to history and the land. Every element was meticulously designed to capture the classic aesthetic without compromising functionality, achieving a composition that evokes warmth, sophistication, and authenticity.

INTERIOR DESIGN

The room’s interior design blends warmth and serenity, incorporating natural elements for an enveloping atmosphere. Light-toned wood dominates the ceiling and windows, softly filtering light and highlighting the natural finish of the walls.

Every detail fosters harmony: woven pendant lamps add an artisanal touch, while clean-lined furniture in noble materials enhances a contemporary yet rustic aesthetic. Large windows flood the space with natural light, connecting it to the surrounding nature. Neutral tones, curated textiles, and balanced decor create a sophisticated, restful ambiance where textures and materials harmonize with the tranquil setting.

TIMELESS KITCHEN

The interior reflects the same level of attention to detail as the façade. The kitchen, the heart of the home, blends tradition and functionality with a cozy aesthetic. Warm-toned wood coexists with marble and ceramic surfaces, creating a balance between rusticity and elegance.

Every element was designed with the user experience in mind, from hand-carved handles to a layout that optimizes natural light. Mauryarte went beyond conventional design, crafting not just a cooking space but an environment that breathes history and comfort.

REFLECTIVE POOL

The traditional design is complemented by a subtle touch of modernity: a minimalist dark-finished pool that reflects the house and its surroundings. Rather than disrupting the colonial aesthetic, this choice enhances the architecture and creates a dialogue between the classic and the contemporary.

The double-height interiors and exposed wooden beams reinforce a sense of spaciousness and freshness, making the design feel both grand and inviting.

HARMONY & NATURE

The renders of this project capture every nuance of the proposal, highlighting the beauty of materials, the interplay of light and textures, and the perfect integration with the landscape. From the main view to the subtlest details, each image conveys the atmosphere envisioned by the client: a retreat that breathes tradition, comfort, and timeless elegance.
